Past Continuos



Past Continuos é o tempo verbal que descreve uma ação que estava em andamento em algum momento no passado.


O past continuos é formado pelo simple past do verbo to b (was/were) + verbo principal + ing (afirmative)

I was working  on my computer yesterday.
They were playing baseball an hour ago.


  • É usado para descrever uma ação num momento definido do passado.


My mother was preparing dinner a 7:00 yesterday.

I was doing my homework this morning.

Muitas vezes é usado com expressões de tempo, tais como, When, while, as, all, ( day/ morning) etc.

Past Continuos (negative / interrogative)

She was reading.

Negarive: She was not (wasn't) reading.
Interrogative: Was she reading?
Short answer: Yes. she was. /No, she wasn't.
